Lunch at Jimbaran
Jimbaran is a small town on the same beach as Seminyak. A stretch of beach here is home to about a dozen small restaurants which serve fresh seafood on the beach.
Apparently, the area is packed around sunset, but since we were there for a late lunch, we pretty much had the place to ourselves.
Our driver, Nyoman, had lunch with us, and managed to secure us the native price for our meal. It is customary throughout Indonesia to charge tourists substantially more than natives.
I ate the better part of a snapper, while sharyn had mostly squid. The traditional Balinese rice and shallots accompanied the seafood beautifully, as did the fresh coconut juice and local Bintang beer.
